OPENING OUR HEARTS TO RELATIONSHIP

A Workshop Presented by Rob Bauer for Gay Men—Single or Partnered

Easton Mountain Retreat Center, Easton, NY
September 24-26, 2010
(Friday — Sunday)

We dream of loving and being loved. This springs from the healthy aspect of our nature. Yet we often deny this need for love, support, and nurturing from another, even when in a committed relationship. We struggle to find our true selves, but shut our hearts down. Emotions and needs that we suppress, however, do not go away—they stay inside our bodies and psyches, affecting health and well-being.

In this workshop we will learn what keeps us alone and apart, and how to be present in the moment with another. We will explore how we sabotage new beginnings. We will find new ways to communicate and make contact with other men in respectful and non-threatening ways. Most of all, we will share our laughter, stories, and feelings, and reclaim our souls.

Join Rob Bauer, find your true self, and learn what holds us back from relationship. Enjoy the beautiful countryside, delicious food, and company of caring gay men.

All gay, bi and trans men are welcome, regardless of age, HIV status, single or in relationship. Rob has been working with gay men singly and in relationships for 25 years as a body-centered psychotherapist. His ground-breaking workshop Touching the Body/Healing the Spirit has been a success at Esalen, Omega Institute, Rowe and Easton Mt.

A SPECIAL TRAINING FOR THERAPISTS

Body and Emotions in the Therapeutic Session

Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat Center
October 29 - 31, 2010 (Friday — Sunday)
13 CEUs available for mental health and bodywork practitioners

How do we help our clients get out of their head and into their heart?

In this workshop you will be introduced to gentle, non-invasive touch as a way to release somatic holding patterns and uncover suppressed emotions. You will learn intentional dialogue as a means of helping the client to verbalize these feelings. Using the RUBENFELD SYNERGY METHOD®, participants will :

  • discover the power of touch,
  • develop a deeper understanding of how we lock up our feelings with body tension,
  • learn how touch with intentional dialogue opens gateways for contacting truth and expressing emotions.

Through hands-on practice, come to understand the client’s experience first-hand and learn powerful new therapeutic skills.

The Setting: Nestled in a wooded grove by the pristine Breitenbush river, Breitenbush Hot Springs Retreat and Conference Center is located in the mountains of Oregon. It is a place of timeless beauty where connection with the natural world is both vast and intimate, and where every season brings unique gifts.
